3 Of My Favorite Christian Parenting Blogs

Parenting in today's world can be so difficult. The world is pulling at our children from many different directions and in so many different ways. How are we going to be the LOUDEST voice they hear? This is a question I ask myself daily.

The KJV version of Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." I love how the NIV version writes this verse. "START children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."

Does that mean your kids will never "backslide" or leave the truth? Absolutely not. I mean, I pray that's not the case with my kids, but I also understand that all humans have fleshly desires. The temptation will always be there. My job as a parent is to teach them not only to live for God, but WHY we live for God. Only then, if they do leave the truth at some point in their lives, will they remember what my husband and I taught them, and find their ways back.

But, let's face it. There are some things we can't do alone or just with our spouse. As the saying goes, "it takes a village". That's why I'm posting some of my favorite christian parenting blogs for you. These women pull their advice from scripture, and give us their own insights. Take a look and hopefully, something they have to say will resonate with you.

1. Disciple Mama

This one stood out to me for several reasons. She talks about discipleship parenting, worship and prayer (so important!), character building and my favorite, SCREEN-FREE KIDS. We live in such a technology obsessed culture! When I was kid, we didn't have this much technology. We had to play outside, get dirty, and use our imaginations. This is one of those fights I mentioned earlier. The world pulls at our children with technology. Let's be honest, it's tough on adults too! If we have a hard time staying away, imagine how difficult it is for them. I listed a few of my favorite amazon prime day deals in another blog. These toys may not hold their attention for very long, but they will certainly aid in helping them use their imagination. Disciple Mama writes about some of her favorite toys as well!

2. Fishbowl Family

Fishbowl Family caught my attention with their name alone. It immediately told me what I would be seeing on her blog just by reading the title. She is a Pastor's wife in Orange, TX and gives so much insight about what it's like to live in the spot light. She doesn't mean that she is being glorified or put on a pedestal, but that people watch her and her family constantly to see if they are living the life they are teaching others to live like. As a wife of a minister, she has so many things I could relate to. She's real with her posts, and we need more of that! She also has some really fun printable resources for kids, like these printable sermon notes. I might have to get some for myself!

3. My Lovely Crazy Life

WOW. That's all I can say about this one. She hits you right in the feels with her blog. I was adopted when I was 8 years old, so adoption has always held a special place in my heart. I also have a special needs sister that is the most precious thing, so obviously, I love her blog for this as well. She gets real with what it's like to adopt, foster and have a special needs child. If you fall in to any of these categories, whether it's you personally, or something that holds a special place in your heart, you need to add this to your must read list.

FINAL THOUGHTS

We NEED each other. We NEED to help each other when it comes to raising our children in this crazy world. We need community and we need support. We need to love our children unconditionally like Jesus loves us. Forgive them, encourage them, nurture them, and teach them to be the Children of God they are called to be.

These amazing women have provided us with so many resources and insights to what their lives are like while living in the world and still trying to raise Godly children. Give them a read and leave some thoughts below.
